<p>Sure, travelling on a yacht to every island is pretty awesome, but it’s what you get to do on the islands that will really take your breath away! You can explore the islands by foot, buggy, jeep, cycle, kayak, snorkel or scooter and it’s the best way to live life like a local!</p>

<p>Every island is around 2 and a half hours away from each other by a yacht which is a lot closer than other countries like Greece and Turkey. This means you’ll have more time to explore the islands and discover the breathtaking places the islands have to offer! You’ll explore the fortress island of Korcula, hike to the lookout in Hvar to watch the golden sunset as well swim in the hidden coves and secluded bays along the coast.</p>

<p>This was one of the biggest reasons why I chose SailWeek! On other yachts and boats that do similar routes, you either need to pay a tax for the alcohol that you bring on the yacht or you can only buy drinks from the onboard bar. This can leave you with a pretty hefty bill to pay at the end of the sail.</p>



<p>You become so close with the other people on the yacht that you share your food and drinks! This is what we did: each group would buy something different and bring it back to the yacht. So, one group bought spirits, another group bought beer and another bought wine and when we put it all together, we had a huge variety to choose from (and it lasted us a few days). When you buy your alcohol from the supermarket or alcohol shop, it’s so much cheaper &#8212; which also means you can drink on the yacht before going out to the club that night and save some cash!</p>

<p>Let&#8217;s start from the starters. Dalmatian prosciutto or locally, simply called prsut is globally known delicacy as it&#8217;s cousins from Italy and Spain. It can be several years old and the meat is smoke or wind dried to become a tender delicacy. When you combine it with selection of best croatian cheese, olive oil and homemade bread you get a perfect starter.</p>

<p>With a prosciutto and cheese platter one of the most famous dalmatian starters. Finely chopped octopus combined with fresh tomatoes, parsley, garlic, onion, capers, olives, local olive oil and vinegar.</p>

<p>This gem can be found around peninsula Peljesac, near Korcula, one of the stops on our Adventure SailWeek. Freshly harvested oysters from a little coastal town Ston are renowned in this part of Europe. Fresh, grilled, fried, oyster soup or risotto. Whatever you choose you won&#8217;t regret.</p>

<p>Simply prepared mussels stew with white wine, parsley, garlic, tomatoes and breadcrumbs. Light and delicious. Goes perfectly with Dalmatian white wines.</p>

<p>Traditional dalmatian dish most commonly made from scorpio fish, conger eel, monkfish, shrimps, grouper, mussels and squid all cooked in white wine and prosecco. The more variety of fish, the better the stew. Served with polenta or homemade gnocchi.</p>

<p>Ok, this one screams Dalmatia. Traditional as it gets. Usually can&#8217;t be ordered upon your arrival to the restaurant because it takes several hours to prepare so the best way to ensure you&#8217;ll enjoy peka for dinner is to ask your SailWeek skipper to organize one for you.</p>



<p>So, What is peka? Peka is a baked dish with meat, fish or octopus and vegetables made in a pot. Pot or a tray is put onto a fireplace and covered with &#8220;steel bell&#8221; and then covered with ashes and fire. You can make it with any kind of meat you like but the most common ones are veal, lamb, goat, octopus or white fish peka. Get your phones out, this one&#8217;s for Instagram!!!</p>

<p>The route is 7 days of&nbsp;<a href="https://sailweekcroatia.com/5-reasons-to-go-on-party-ultra-sail-week-croatia/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">non-stop exploring and partying</a>. I mean it when I say non-stop! You’ll visit islands like Brač, Hvar and Vis and party in some of the hottest destinations in Europe while being surrounded by the unique beauty of Croatia.</p>



<p>The route starts and finishes in Split which makes it easier for you to get to and from the festival. The arena is just a short walk from the Marina, so it’s the perfect location!</p>



<p>This route runs for just 2 weeks with Ultra Music Festival right in the middle which means you get to choose if you want to finish your SailWeek route with Ultra or start with it.</p>

<p>If you choose to finish SailWeek with Ultra it means you have 5-days-worth of pre-Ultra partying where you meet hundreds of people. Trust me, you’ll start to feel the hype building. When Ultra comes around, you’ll get to spend it with all your new friends from all around the world. You’ll meet up for pre-drinks together and play a little beer pong before heading out to the festival as one big group.</p>



<p>SailWeek have seriously thought of everything! This year, they have a VIP SailWeek stand in the stadium making it 1000x easier for everyone on sail to meet up during the festival. That means you have 3-day access to all the hottest post-Ultra parties including Ultra Regatta, Ultra Beach, After Beach and the Resistance Closing Party. You’ll spend the next week keeping the hype going by jumping from party to party and meeting so many different people along the way.</p>

<p>Our story started with the Party Sail Week and up to today It has been the most popular route.</p>



<p>In the high season the number of boats goes up to 30 per week. In early June, late August and September it&#8217;s more likely the number of boats is going to be around 10-15. On busier weeks we have circle raft parties and on less busier weeks line raft parties.</p>

<p>Ultra Sail Weeks are closely related to the Ultra Europe music festival and in those two weeks we always have around 50 boats per fleet.</p>



<p>One of the most recognizable things about Ultra Sail Week is our famous circle raft party with more than 50 yachts and a DJ.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">DATES</h2>



<ul><li>PARTY:&nbsp;Party starts June 2nd and finishes September 8th. That means You&#8217;ve got 14 weeks to choose from.</li><li>ULTRA:&nbsp;Ultra is on for just two weeks, from June 30th to July 14th.</li></ul>

<p>We would say it&#8217;s the same on both routes. Mostly people from 18 to mid 30s, group of friends, couples, single travellers from all around the world.<br></p>

<p>Through the last couple of seasons the gender ratio was always somewhere around 50% &#8211; 50%. That doesn&#8217;t mean that we don&#8217;t have weeks with more guys than girls or other way around.</p>

<p>If you are a couple, it&#8217;s more likely We&#8217;ll put you on the boat with other couples or group of friends.</p>

<p>If you are a single traveller, you&#8217;ll probably share a bunk bed cabin with other single travellers of same gender. You&#8217;ll be put on the mixed gender boat.</p>

<p>Boats are docked in ACI Split city centre marina until Monday morning 10 a. m., July 9th.</p>



<p>That means You&#8217;ll have accommodation on the boat which is 20 minutes walking distance to the festival venue or just 5 minutes by taxi.</p>

What is the difference between Party and Ultra Sail Week?


<p> <em>When you think of Croatia the first thing in your mind are spectacular beaches, crystal clear sea and amazing nightlife. What more could you ask for?</em> </p>



<p> <em>But with so many different companies that sail along the Croatian coastline, it&#8217;s hard to choose which one is best for you.</em> </p>



<p>Before booking my trip, I assumed that all the different companies would have similar inclusions and perks, but boy was I wrong. I went into detective mode (probably a little more that I should have) to find out exactly what each company offered and by the end of it, SailWeek was at the top of my list.</p>

<p>At first, I didn&#8217;t think too many about the importance of having local staff travel with you, but while you&#8217;re on the SailWeek, you&#8217;ll realise that it&#8217;s one of the best things about it.</p>



<p>With so much local knowledge your skipper doubles as your tour guide showing you how to live in true Croatian style. This means introducing you to new foods, customs and learning new words. <p>Speaking of Croatians partying hard, I was surprised to see that most of the sail companies in Croatia don&#8217;t allow you to bring your own alcohol on board. Many of them have their own bars on board which means you don&#8217;t have as much freedom to play epic drinking games before going out.</p>



<p>Trust me, you haven&#8217;t experienced life until you&#8217;ve poured a whole bottle of vodka into a watermelon and used it to meet new people at the raft party. Let&#8217;s be honest, buying your own drinks is a whole lot cheaper than buying drinks from a bar.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">4. SailWeek starts the route in Split</h2>



<p>Starting the sail route at the&nbsp;<strong>city centre of Split</strong>&nbsp;means that it&#8217;s easier for travellers to get to. With the airport just 25 minutes away and plenty of accommodation around, it&#8217;s one of the most accessible sail companies in Croatia. Other companies start their routes in towns like Trogir and Seget which are 40-50 minutes away from the Split city centre.</p>

<p>SailWeek Croatia is one of the only sail companies to stop in Bol and it was hands down my all-time favorite place of the whole trip! Not only do you get to visit the infamous golden horn beach (Zlatni Rat) but you get to party on it! The AURO beach party is like nothing you&#8217;ve ever experienced before. There are DJ&#8217;s on rotation, amazing drinks and best of all, they have someone playing the saxophone &#8211; turning the party up to 100.</p>



<p>Imagine someone playing the saxophone to the beat of Swedish House Mafia&#8217;s: &#8220;Don&#8217;t you worry child&#8221;. It&#8217;s unforgettable!</p>

<p>I&#8217;m not going to lie &#8211; the circle raft party was one of the main reasons why I chose SailWeek. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4. Plitvice national Park</h2>



<p>Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and&nbsp;<strong>largest national park</strong>&nbsp;and must visit place while in Croatia.</p>



<p>With its 16 lakes, seven different routes to tour the lake system and four hiking trails it has always attracted nature lovers. It takes up to six hours to explore the lakes on foot, the but there is an option to shorten your trip by using park&#8217;s free boats and buses.</p>



<p>s The highlight of the Park is a 78 meters high waterfall. The wildlife at its best, three hours drive from Split.</p>

<p>While in Split, visit the 1700-year-old Roman palace and stroll around the cobbled streets. If you like museums we recommend visiting the Archaeological museum with thousands of artefacts from the Greek and Roman era.</p>



<p>Just 15 minutes drive from Split&nbsp;<a href="https://sailweek.tours/travel-to-croatia/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">city centre</a>&nbsp;visit the ruins of the ancient city of&nbsp;<strong>Salona</strong>&nbsp;with the Roman amphitheatre.&nbsp;<strong>Fortress of Klis</strong>&nbsp;used to defend Split from the Ottomans, now best known as a film set for the Game of Thrones is also 15 minutes drive.</p>



<p>If you&#8217;re into nature and need a break from the sun,&nbsp;<strong>Vranjaca cave</strong>&nbsp;is a perfect pick with its remarkable stalagmites.</p>

<p>This is the one party that everyone has been waiting for&#8230; and for good reason!</p>



<p>The skippers find a secluded cove between the islands and set themselves up in a circle making it your very own private pool! Before long, everyone has their inflatable toys out, everything from inflatable pizzas to giant yellow ducks and unicorns. The Sail Week crew bring out giant speakers and set up a DJ stand on one of the catamarans.</p>



<p>Then the&nbsp;<a href="https://sailweekcroatia.com/ultra-sail-week-croatia/">party</a>&nbsp;starts!!!</p>



<p>Everyone comes to the centre of the circle to dance together on their inflatables while others dance on their yachts and at the top of catamarans. There is no other party like it!&nbsp;<br></p>
